What`s Up Doc
(appointment update)
Hello again, just a short note to let you know that my appointments today went well. I thought of putting out a note but that didn`t feel right.
My first appointment was a breathing test and the nurse who gave it said my numbers look good. Of course, I must wait to see pulmonologist for final say and that comes next Friday. Yet I`ll take it as a good sign anyways. Positive thinking, right!!
I`ve had 3 sets (both lungs involved) of pulmonary embolisms. The first 2 in 2004 and the last set in 2019. I`ve been on blood thinners ever since 2019. In 2004 I had to give myself heparin injections every 12 hrs. for 8 months. My belly was nothing but one huge bruise at the time.
Any who, my 2nd appointment was with my primary doctor. I so enjoy how easy he is to talk to, and you never feel rushed. His bedside manner is wonderful to say the least. I am blessed to have a few doctors whom I trust, and my primary is top on this list.
It seems some months are filled with nothing but appointments not only for myself but for my brother. I do all the driving he is unable since the mini strokes. And has always felt uncomfortable with the traffic compared to where we originated. No complaints though. We are still both here and we have each other for company and support. The doctor said it was a miracle he`s still here. I had to laugh when my brother smiled and said, “I`m a tough old bird”. And that he is and thank God that it runs in the family. We don`t give up easy!!
I wish you all good health, the love of friends and family and peace from my heart to yours.
