To Rise
To Rise
To rise with the sun
To rise and stand tall
To rise to the occasion
To rise against abrasion
To rise against fear
To rise for humanity
To rise above the dark below
To rise, to believe, to know
When I fall
I am summoned
To rise
This morning, I wondered what story I`d tell from days long past. Instead, the morning presented a new verse for me to share with you. (To Rise)
I will also include below some of the verses I have created on the fly. As I have read or viewed an article or two, or many. I have hearted for the content but when compelled I also share a verse conjured as I pass by. These are some of those.
On March 1st I stumbled across (more than likely in my feed) Benjamin Antoines note. I now follow him, check his Substack out.
My reply
A dream fulfilled scribbled across the page A legacy left for all age To read, to ponder, to theorize Done with love Makes one`s journey materialize
Matthewbythames Substack is one of my favorites by Matthew Edwards. Throughout my last 90 plus days I have shared many a verse on the fly with him. Some are below. His Substack is located here- 👇🏼https://substack.com/@matthewbythames865810
I will call this short verse
"A Love Once Lost"
A love once lost is an ember that burned
Our hearts may have broken but the spirit learned
Some were to hold for only awhile
Celebrate what was, yet do not revile
Each moment in time held its own place
To love, to forgive, to be granted grace
One doesn`t run before learning to crawl
It`s better to have lost love than to have no love at allThis one was written more in sentence form because the I had yet to figure out how to move to the next line on my device without enter submitting something partially finished. So here I changed not the wording but the form and added titles.
“Light”
A light once lit shines through the darkness
Against the raging wind
That seeks to snuff it out
It`s wick stands strong and carries on
The light grows brighter
Faithfully sparking others
To shine along the way
A Song of Love
Through tears of joy my smile equates
Those lines of poetry with eternal faith
The beams of togetherness
Even though, we each are one
A universal embrace
A song of love sung
I have realized that I have been very creative within the past year. Many of the things I shared when I first started OSJ were things written a very long time ago.
I once was asked why so many of my creations were so sad or “Godly” as if it taboo to express one`s feelings and seeking of truth and or purpose. Those were my experiences, those words helped me deal, cope and heal. I found myself able to allow emotions to flow forth instead of denying they existed. I needed a way to express myself, to find the ability to love myself.
I have written words of anger, yet by the end of a piece I seek to forgive or to move beyond. The afterschool special I used to say. That helped me to remain grateful for what I had and the gift I wanted to share with all who would stop and listen or read some emotion some glimmer of hope that we can face our fear and the darkness fear brings and transform that into light, into love and into hope that we may one day live in peace.
Thank you, if you have enjoyed the piece before you, kindly heart ❤️ it so that others may find it also.
✨Be the Light

I love this one most of all.
