Magnifying Focus
prose-poetry
There is this process at which analysis meets emotion when one chooses to reflect.
Dissecting perception from reality, a heart can detect… the intentions behind someone's actions and the hurt they inflict.
In hopes not to re-ignite embers of anger, pros and cons are weighed against what lay smoldering in remnants that now remain.
Mistakes often made from the slip of a tongue. A place where bias had already begun to judge what isn't yours to control.
Such matters used to tear me up inside, causing me to shrink, cry and hide.
Nor more, do I absorb in silence the heat of another's projected flame. As they smile in ignorant joy at my pain.
Calmly I stood and directly I spoke, not to inflict nor to provoke… I called out hate by its proper name. Because the kindness of love is not a game.
Focus magnifies what it is we see, when truth bathes the soul in clarity. The hardened heart can reset when met… with love in its purity.
