I Still See You
I see you
wild and free
absorbing the wind
to help you breathe
so young
so innocent
a dreamer of maybe`s
a new shining star
You do not yet realize
your heart will go far
You have the strength
that is raw and pure
You have the strength
you will endure
Shine my child
never give in
Where one lesson ends
another begins
I`ve watched you grow
through the years
I`ve watched you
seen you, been you
within my tears
I can still see you
you`re no longer locked inside
Run my child
catch your breath
against the wind
for we journey now
together
until life`s end
Healing the child within. That child I hid and protected. I have brought her to the window and let her peer outside but I didn`t set her free, fully until the above poem’s completion, this very moment.
I believe that writing those things, I dared not say aloud, gave myself space. Space to look within and see how far I have come from that wee little girl. To see my strengths, my will, my heart still shines through it all.
✨Be the Light in Someone’s Darkness

You are a beautiful light Debra. Shine bright!
I`ve watched you grow
through the years
I`ve watched you
seen you, been you
within my tears
I can still see you
These lines are highlighted in my reading of this and seem to reflect a moment of recognition, of seeing her clearly—not just as a memory, but as a living part of you that endures.
been you
Is like a pivot in your beautiful lines here🥺
