A Storm`s Coming
Ever notice how you can see a storm building off in the horizon? Your eyes scan the skies picking up the clues you`ve learned that warn about its intensity. Other times it`s a feeling deep in your bones. A pain, an ache or a gut feeling that what`s coming isn`t going to be good. Yet we weather the storm, we prepare ourselves and most of all we don`t give up hope that we`ll see the sun rise with calmer skies.
The following poem was written back through in the time of my life when I was going through the end of my marriage and divorce. I was 28. I could feel the depression setting in and there were signs of its coming arrival.
In the darkness you begin, like a memory fading in Building strength upon my fear, spreading lies for all to hear I`d give you no attention, for if you pass me by I`d allow you a nod, but I wouldn`t say hi Why must you linger Do you build your strength that way We all have our purpose but Here you cannot stay Saying what makes you happy Loud enough to hurt Just because you can Makes your more than a jerk Your booming voice may frighten me As you smash up my things Flashing your anger striking with hate Yet my voice will still sing Like quicksand you try and hold me down With every attempt I make Your grip, tight and strong Though you will not break my faith There are reasons for your existence There`s no redemption without sin Evil can make one wonder and Change the wrong from within You may come back another day For that I am sure Try again to knock me down Yet I am strong and will endure I am not afraid to fail Or look you in the eye What I fear most of all Did I live, before I died
✨As I typed this today, it has me thinking about what lays ahead. That resolve we incorporate into our being of what truly matters. I firmly believe love will conquer hate, and faith over fear.
✨Be the Light 💖

Love is the light that conquers hate and spreads light in our lives, lessening pain and grief.
